The Antlers Talent Bio:
The Antlers is an indie rock band originating from Brooklyn, New York. The band includes Peter Silberman, who is the composer, singer, and songwriter. Darby Cicci plays the trumpet, upright/electric bass, keyboards, synths, and provides back up vocals. Last but not least Michael Lerner who plays the drums. They got their band name from The Microphones’ song titled “Antlers”.Originally The Antlers was supposed to be a solo project, created by Peter when he moved to Brooklyn. In 2006 he self released his first album called Uprooted. He wrote and recorded all nine songs himself. He released a second album titled In the Attic of the Universe released through Fall Records in 2007. He released his EP titled Cold War and New York Hospitals. Following the release Micheal and Darby joined Peter and they became The Antlers.
In 2009 they self released their 3rd album titles Hospice. They later signed with French Kiss Records based in New York City. The album was was listed as Album of the Year on various lists. In 2011 they released their 4th album titled Burst Apart through French Kiss Records and Transgressive Records in the UK, Europe, and Japan. The album received praise from various publications such as The Guardian, New York Times, Under the Radar, and Pitchfork.
They continued to release EPs titled Together in 2011 and Undersea in 2012. Together consisted of 8 songs that were remixes and alternate versions of the songs, from their previous EP Burst Apart. Undersea consisted of 4 songs and was similar to the feel of drifting off to sleep or sinking to the bottom of the ocean. Familiars EP was released in 2014. It was the band’s 5th studio album. Rolling Stone stated that Familiars has put the band on a whole new level of songwriting. The album is said to be the band’s stamp on the modern rock indie scene.
