Pixie Lott Talent Bio:
Victoria Louise “Pixie” Lott is an English singer/songwriter and actress. From the suburbs of London, Lott was born several months premature so her mother nicknamed her Pixie because of her tiny stature. Pixie started singing in her church school. She went on to attend main school, and stared in many school plays and productions. Most notably, Pixie appeared in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which was hosted by the London Palladium, and she also played Louisa Von Trapp in the BBC’s celebration production of the Sound of Music. While juggling school with her performances Pixie managed to still get great grades, a challenge for any young talent. Being an actress, Pixie has been in two movies to date. She played Judy, Fred Figglehorn’s crush in the film Fred: The Movie on Nickelodeon alongside Lucas Cruikshank and her second movie being Sweet Baby Jesus. In 2006, at the age of 15 Lott sang for L.A. Reid after he heard a few of her demos. He then signed her to the Island Def Jam Music Group. After a bidding war started due to a switch of managers, Lott left Island for Mercury Records in the UK, and Interscope Records in the U.S. Lott then signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music publishing while writing and recording tracks for movie s and other artists. Lotts personal debut single , “Mama Do” released in 2009, spent one week at number one, eleven weeks at the top forties list and eighteen at the top 75’s charts in the UK. The song also charted in at some of the top lists outside of the UK. That same year in August, Lott was featured alongside big name artists such as Hoobastank, The All-American Rejects, Kasabian, Boys Like Girls, Estranged and Raygun as one of the live acts at Asia’s very first MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia concert. Lott’s second lead single “Boys and Girls” was released in September of 2009 and topped the UK singles Chart which followed the Debut of her album, Turn it Up. This followed an intensive promotional tour where Lott traveled globally. The album debuted at number six on the UK Album Chart, and sold over 600,000 copies in the United Kingdom. In 2010 the album was certified Double-Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. Lott was chosen as the face of Nokia’s “Illuvial Pink Collection” mobile phone range and Casio’s range of Baby G watches. In July of 2011 Lott signed a deal with Select Model Management just around the same time that she released her second album, Young Foolish and Happy which includes collaborations with Stevie Wonder and John Legend. It was certified Gold by the British Phonographic Industry and her third and fourth album had just the same great success.
