Larry the Cable Guy Talent Bio:
Daniel Lawrence Whitney aka “Larry the Cable Guy”, is a professional stand-up comedian, voiceover artist, and actor best known as a member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. It would be hard-pressed to find someone in America who has not heard his catchphrase “Git-R-Done”.Born February 17 1963, in Pawnee City, Nebraska, Larry grew up raising pigs on his family farm until he was 16. However, he found appreciation for the performing arts through his mother, who was an Elvis impersonator, and his father, who was a preacher and a guitar player. After moving to Palm Beach, Florida in 1979, his wit and comedic nature caught the eye of his friends and peers. His first stand up performance in a comedy club happened in 1986 after his friends dared him to try out his act. Two years later, he quit his job as a bell hop to pursue a career in comedy full time.
Larry first broke into the entertainment industry as a radio personality/special guest on multiple radio station broadcasts all over the country. After creating the “Cable Guy” character, and the release of his third comedy album “Lord, I Apologize”, which went gold, his career began to take off. The album reached #1 on the U.S. comedy charts in late 2001. He then joined the Blue Collar Comedy Tour in 2003 alongside Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, and Bill Engvall, catapulting him into a house hold name. His next four albums that followed all reached #1 on the U.S. comedy charts, including ”The Right To Bare Arms”, which also reached #1 on the U.S. country charts.
Larry the Cable Guy has also appeared in multiple films, such as Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector, Delta Farce, and Witless Protection. He also voiced the character Mater in Disney’s Cars franchise including 7 video games.
