Cleveland born musician Tracy Chapman first rose to fame with the success of her 1988 single "Fast Car". Her debut album 'Tracy Chapman' would eventually hit number one in both the US and UK, launching two more successfully charting singles. She has since released numerous platinum selling albums, winning four Grammy's and multiple other awards along the way. In addition to her work in music Chapman was given an honorary doctorate in Fine Arts by her alma mater, Tufts University for her commitment to Social Activism.
