Talib Kweli
Talib Kweli, born Talib Kweli Greene on October 3, 1975 is one of the most representative figures of alternative hip hop. Talib made his debut as a solo artist with the 2002 album Quality. The album that included the successful song Get By, was also certified gold. Talib collaborated with the rappers Common and Jean Grae for his next album The Beautiful Struggle. The album that was released in 2004 includes the hit singles I Try featuring Mary J. Blige and Never Been In Love. The artist Right About Now is regarded a mixtape though it released two singles: Flash Gordon and Fly That Knot featuring MF Doom. Talib Kweli's most successful album is Eardrum. Released in August 2007, the album debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 and it reached number one on Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums.
