Simon Cowell

One of the most successful music industry gurus of our time, Simon Cowell is mostly known as the hardnosed creator and judge of the smash hit television shows American Idol and The X Factor.  Born in London, this is where he started the contest shows, with similar UK versions called Pop Idol and Britain’s Got Talent.  He got his start working in as a runner for film producers, as well as in the mailroom at a music publishing company.
