Jay-Z

Jay-Z, one of the greatest hip hop artist was born Shawn Corey Carter on December 4, 1969. he is known not only for his outstanding musical career but also as the former CEO of Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records. He made his debut with the album Reasonable Doubt released in 1996.  The rapper’s success reached its highest peak in 2001 with the album The Blueprint which is considered one of hip hop's classic albums. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and it was certified twice platinum. The album’s follow-up The Blueprint: The Gift & the Curse released in 2002 sold over four million copies in U.S.

It included the hits Excuse Me Miss and Bonnie and Clyde featuring Beyoncé Knowles. In 2004 Jay-Z’s collaboration with the rock group Linkin Park led to Collision Course and it included the hits Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You and Jigga What/Faint. The artist’s eleventh album The Blueprint 3 is due in 2009.
