DJ Red Alert
Hailing from Harlem, New York, Red Alert was instrumental is boosting the careers of groups and artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, Black Sheep, and Queen Latifah. He is noted as one of the pioneers of hip hop, and is one of the DJ’s on New York’s Kiss-FM 98.7. During the 80’s and early 90’s Red Alert’s management company was the only hip hop company besides Russell Simmons company. He was also a disc jockey and host for Hot 97 in New York for seven years. The Bronx Walk of Fame has a recognition piece for Red Alert because of his work of promoting hip hop in its Golden era.
