Crown City Rockers
Crown City Rockers is a genre-blending hip-hop collective whose music is original, powerful, and provocative all in the same breath and follows in the storied footsteps of such pioneers as The Roots, De La Soul, and A Tribe Called Quest. They were originally named Mission but changed their named after Mission UK (a 60s British rock band) asked them to switch monikers.
Comprised of stellar emcee Raashan Ahmad, producer Woodstock, keyboardist Kat Ouano, bassist/producer Headnodic and drummer Max MacVeety, Crown City Rockers formed in Boston's Roxbury section in the late 90s. They have now released one EP and two full-length records. Notable guest appearances on their releases include Gift of Gab (of Blackalicious) and Zion (of Zion I).
They have toured all over the United States as well as Japan, Europe, and Australia.
