Chubby Checker

This famous singer songwriter is most known for bringing the Twist to the forefront of American pop culture.  In 2008, the Twist was recognized by Billboard as the most popular single to be on the Billboard Hot 100 since the song came out in 1958.  After the huge success of the Twist, Checker came out with a series of dance hits that topped charts nationwide, the tracks were The Hucklebuck, The Fly, Dance the Mess Around and Pony Time. Each respectively hit the following ranks on the Billboard Hot 100, #14, #7, #24, and #1.  Checker grabbed a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Performance for his 1961 hit Let's Twist Again.  He also had a number three hit with Dee Dee Sharp called Slow Twistin, and a number 2 ranking hit titled Limbo Rock.  Booking Chubby Checker is a great idea if you're looking to spice up your next event with the Twist.
