Brandy

Brandy Rayana Norwood was born February 11, 1979 in McComb, MS but was raised in Carson, CA by her parents Willie and Sonja. Her father Willie is a former gospel and choir singer. Her mother is a manager and represents both Brandy and her brother Ray J. Brandys first self titled album released in 1994 was a huge hit. It went on to sell over 6 million copies in the US. Three top 10 hits were included in the album making it one of the most successful albums of the year. That year Brandy was nominated for two Grammy awards, Best New Artist and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. In 1996 Brandy signed on to star in the hit show Moesha. The show was on the air and successful for 6 full seasons. Brandy later went on to release 4 full length albums. In 2010 Brandy starred along side brother Ray J in the hit VH1 show Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business which was a revealing show about the dealings of the two and their family within the entertainment business.
