Rising to fame by being the DJ and one of the producers for the hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest, Ali Shaheed Muhammad is one of the most historic figures in hip hop. He has credits on all five studio albums with Tribe, ranging between 1990 and 1998. He is also a part of The Ummah, a production collective with Jay Dee and Q-Tip.
