Bear Hands Talent Bio:
Bear Hands is an post-punk and indie rock band. The band includes Dylan Rau who is the lead vocals and plays the guitar. Ted Feldman plays the guitar and TJ Orscher who plays the drums. The band originates from Brooklyn, New York and began in 2006. They landed a deal with Cantors a records in 2010, when they released their single “What a Drag”. Following the release of their debut EP titled Burning Bush Supper Club in 2010, they went on tour as the opening act for Passion Pit, Gza, and We Were Promised Jetpacks. Their single “Giants” was a top ten hit on the Alternative Songs in 2014.Dylan Rau met Ted Feldman when they both attended Wesleyan University. Feldman was already in a band at that time. It wasn't till later that he joined Silberman. When Rau went through a break up, he found out that his ex girlfriend hooked up with one of Feldman’s band members. He also found out that the band was offered a recording deal. He decided to walk right up to Feldman and told him we’re starting a band! Ted was convinced and left his previous band and joined Rau. Later Orscher and Loper joined the duo through their previous bands that were apart of the local Connecticut hardcore punk scene.
After several months, the band released their first EP titled Golden and was labeled a New York buzz band. It gained them popularity locally and nationally. They began to tour heavily opening for bands such as Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, and Mayer Hawthorne. After a few small releases they added Brazilian tour dates to their schedule opening for Chairlift. Three years later, they released an 11 track album titled Burning Bush Supper Club. Bear Hands was the opening act for MGMT at two on campus shows. Ray had been classmates with the groups Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser. Click for Bear Hands Event Booking.
